Elephant House itself is a converted colonial farmhouse with thatched roofs, courtyards, verdant gardens, secluded corners, and deep verandas. The covered outside areas, as well as the house, are furnished with comfortable sofas, Persian rugs, artwork and interesting old photos and maps, and every year since opening in 1998 the owners have added something new. The most substantial addition is The Stable Cottages, which are set in four acres of lush and are more contemporary in design.

The 11 spacious bedrooms open onto courtyards and private verandas. The luxury rooms all have a lovely main bedroom with en-suite bathroom with a bath and a shower. The rooms are set in established gardens. The Stable Cottages are situated across the road from the main house and only offer showers. All 5 cottages are equipped with a mini bar fridge and tea- and coffee-making facilities.

The chef serves light, poolside lunches and after sundowners, a memorable 3-course candlelit dinner is prepared with flair.

Children are welcome and babysitters are available on request. Children also have full use of the club room which has games, a TV with a DVD library, and a laptop computer.
