Kakamega Forest: Rondo Retreat

This tranquil retreat in the Kakamega Rain Forest welcomes you to pursue your hobbies as a butterfly collector, beetle specialist, frog fancier, spider hunter, tourist or bird watcher.

Rondo Retreat belongs to the Trinity Fellowship, a Christian society committed to communication and conservation.

The homestead consists of a main house and five cottages in the same old style, whose proximity to the forest makes for delightful accommodation.
Accommodation consists of fifteen en-suite double rooms, with an additional three rooms in the main house. All furnished with a vintage flair, that embarks on a combination of old, new and local.

Hearty English breakfasts, midday lunches, and candlelit dinners are served in a bright, cozy dining room, in front of a crackling fire. Tea can be taken in the sitting room, on the main verandah or in your room.

Among the vast array of birds, the Kakamega Rain Forest is home to the flamboyant great blue turaco, gemlike emerald cuckoo and the cacophonous black-and-white casqued hornbill. From the monkey family we have the blue sykes, the common black and white colobus, and the rare debrazza’s.
